Master Kawada was born in
Japan where he inherited the art of shiatsu from his
father. He started to learn very young and
later graduated from an official shiatsu
school in Tokyo (Nippon Shiatsu School).
He was drawn to The Yellow Emperor's
Classic of Oriental Medicine, and the subtle
simplicity of its teaching.
He also realized that the essence of oriental
medicine is preventative, rather than a
treatment of symptoms. As the poetic idiom
of the book says 'when war is declared, it is
too late to make weapons' and 'when one is
thirsty, it is too late to dig a well'.
The Yellow Emperor emphasizes that the balanced
flow of energy between heaven and earth is the
key to keeping well.
Oriental medicine is linked with the Way (Do

)
Master Kawada founded Yoseido Shiatsu,
a way in which man is seen as the interface
between the energies of Heaven and Earth;
the energies that nourish the life force.
Through his practice, he discovered important links between the
12 principal meridians and the 8 curious meridians and their flow.
He has formulated eight stretching postures of the curious meridians, to maintain health through daily practice.
He also sees very important links between The I Ching (The Classic Book of Change) and
the flow of Ki energy.
His experiments with the 8 curious meridians have been remarkably effective.
